When using the Jack Lalanne's Health Master 100, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:
• To protect against risk of electrical shock or injury never immerse
• Health Master 100 power cord, plug, or motor base in water or
• any other liquids.
• With dry hands, always remove plug from electrical outlet before
• assembly or disassembly. Do not remove by pulling or tugging on
• the power cord. Do not operate this or any appliance with a damaged
• cord or plug.
• Not for use by children. Keep out of reach of children to avoid serious
• personal injury. This appliance is not a toy.
• When preparing fresh baby food always consult with your physician
• (pediatrician) before making any dietary changes. Certain fruits and
• vegetables are not recommended for infants or young children due to
• immature digestive systems, allergies, or other developmental reasons.
• To prevent choking, when preparing fresh baby food always make sure
• all fruits and vegetables are completely liquefied before giving them
• to a baby.
• Make sure the lid is attached properly and securely locked
• before operating the Health Master 100.
• Do not unfasten the locking bar during operation.
• To avoid risk of injury keep hands and utensils out of the
• Health Master 100 and away from its sharp blade during operation.
• Be sure to turn power switch to OFF after each use and remove power
• cord from electrical outlet when not in use.
• To avoid serious personal injury: Never remove the lid and look into
• the pitcher while the motor is running. If something is stuck turn the
• power OFF, wait for motor to stop running then remove cap and insert
• tamper to move things around. If food remains stuck turn the power OFF,
• wait until motor stops, unit shuts down completely and is unplugged
• before disassembling and removing blocked food.
• Make sure the lid is attached properly and securely locked before
• turning the power ON.
• Never operate the Health Master 100 without the lid in place.
• To avoid risk of injury keep hands and utensils out of the pitcher and
• away from its sharp blade during operation.
• Use the tamper, not fingers or utensils, to propel food into the pitcher.
• Make sure Health Master 100 motor stops completely and the unit is
• unplugged from the electrical outlet before cleaning, putting on,
• or removing parts.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not operate if Health Master 100 malfunctions, is dropped, or
• damaged in any manner. Let a qualified appliance repair person
• examine and/or repair appliance before using.
• To avoid electric shock or serious injury do not use any attachments
• that were not recommended or sold by the manufacturer.
• Do not let power cord hang over the edge of table, counter, or let cord
• touch hot surfaces such as stoves.
• To reduce the risk of injury never place the pitcher on the
• Health Master 100 base without properly assembling the unit.
• This Health Master 100 has a polarized plug (one blade is wider
• than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will
• fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in
• the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
• electrician. Do not modify or force the plug in any way.
• Never remove the pitcher while the Health Master 100 motor is running.
• Turn the power switch to OFF, wait for the motor to come to a complete
• stop, remove plug from outlet before removing the pitcher.
• Never leave the Health Master 100 unattended while in use.
• Never add food while Health Master 100 motor is running.
• Turn the power OFF and wait for the machine to stop, then add
• food and start machine again.
• We do not recommend turning the power ON when the pitcher is empty.
• Do not block the exhaust vent, this needs to be able to take in air in
• order to prevent the motor from overheating.
• Always use one hand to hold the pitcher handle as the
• Health Master 100 unit operates at high speeds.
• Use the Health Master 100 on a dry, stable surface.
• Never put fruits with pits in the Health Master 100. Remove pits prior
• to placing items into the pitcher.
• Do not let the Health Master 100 base rest on the power cord.
• The maximum capacity is 64 ounces. Significantly less with thicker
• ingredients.
• Do not fill pitcher more than 2/3 full when using the tamper.
• Do not use tamper for more than 25 seconds of continuous blending.
• When processing nut butters or foods that contain oil, do not process
• for more than 2 minutes after mixture starts circulating freely. Over
• processing can cause the Health Master 100 motor to overheat.
• Always make sure the lid and EZ-lock cap are fully assembled. The
• only time the cap should be removed is when adding ingredients
• and/or using the tamper. Machine should not be running when adding
• either of these.
• Only use Health Master 100 for its intended use.
Additional Safety Precautions to use while
processing hot liquids to avoid serious injury/burns.
• Make sure the lid and EZ-lock cap are securely in place and locked
• when processing hot liquids. This will prevent lid from accidentally
• coming off once the power is turned ON.
• When using hot liquids always start on LO speed (#1). Then increase
• rapidly to the required speed for that recipe. Use caution when using
• hot liquids as steam may escape from under the lid/cap.
• Always hold the pitcher securely by the handle while processing
• hot liquids.
